Ask yourself who am I as a presenter?
Never underestimate the power of practicing and preparing for a speech, talk, discussion or presentation.
Remember to answer the following:
Who is your audience?
What is the key message you want to get across to them?
Do you know enough about the topic to make informed conclusions?
What does the audience need to know and how can you effectively communicate this?
Are you telling a story through key findings and building trust/rapport with the audience?
Public Speaking Tips and Tricks
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS!
-
Remember, the audience is interested in the topic/information being presented, try to focus on this instead of thinking people are watching you personally.
Practice makes perfect. Preparing for a speech, talk, or presentation will require time from you in order to effectively deliver to an audience. Avoid jargon, and fillers words ‘urm’ , ‘like’ , and ‘you know’.
Do not ‘wing it’. No matter if you are giving a 10 minute speech or 1-hour long workshop, remember we want you to feel prepared, ready and eager to interact with the audience. **No reading off the slides.
-
Breathing exercises can prove effective for getting grounded with yourself before presenting. Taking a breath and stepping back can align your thoughts with your movements, and remember presenting is both about speech and body language.
Record yourself and play it back to listen in if you use filler words (as mentioned in the answer above).
Talk to yourself in the mirror.
Practice ad libbing, and can help when answering questions from the audience.
Carry notes when presenting if you need them.
Prepare, prepare, and prepare.

Get clear on your intentions for public speaking. This is a marathon not a sprint. Enjoy the journey. If you’re just starting out on your public speaking journey, be kind and gracious towards yourself, and remember the mind and body need time to adjust.

A typical session will be run with the expectation that Alexandra provides a slide deck, resources and material to discuss throughout, but also want the session to be open to the you, providing a safe space to explore road blocks / challenges you might be facing; and actively work by combating this using a solution-based approach.
-
There is no real preparation required for Alexandra's sessions. What is expected, is that you come to any session you book with a clear mind, taking a step back and re-aligning yourself despite anything that may occur during the day / evening. However, Alexandra will begin each session by pausing, a chance to get grounded and familiar with one another before we begin. If you have any specific goals in mind for your session and would like to let Alexandra know beforehand. Please don't hesitate to reach out.

Stories are what make us dreamers, able to put ourselves in others shoes, get comfortable with new and exciting ventures we are not already familiar with. Stories are what make the world go around, and us in turn thriving and striving for more. Stories, while they can be used in the fictional sense, in business coaching and public speaking, are used to drive experiences, through beginning, middle, and end, lifting the 'key message' and topic.
We all deserve the chance to be confident, whether at work, home, in front of friends, colleagues, even the 'stranger' on the bus, tube (if you're in London) and when walking out and about.
Mindfulness, aligning with your true intentions and higher self play a big part in being confident and raising your self esteem. Alexandra will help you set realistic goals and work your way towards a bright future.
